60 Day To Karate Fitness Program

To cut a long story very short, I have been struggling to walk since the start of lockdown (march 2020), Xray showed severe osteo arthritis in my left hip, so at the end of July 2022 i had hip surgery, so i am now fixed:) But I have totally lost my fitness, gained a lot of weight and have low energy.

keto meal

So the idea was to get back to fitness with a 60 day karate training program, starting with very gentle karate exercises, then building as the 60 days progress.

The 60 day program will consist of short daily, follow along karate videos, that anyone can follow. Especially if someone is either starting karate or and experienced karateka wanting to get back to fitness through karate.

I thought it would be a good idea to have 1 week Keto, 7 day water Fast and another 1 week Keto before starting the 60 day karate fitness program.

With a seven day water fast, make sure you consult a medical professional, as prolonged fasting isn’t right for everyone. Anyone with serious health conditions or taking certain medications, or those who are under 18 years of age, pregnant, or nursing should not attempt a prolonged fast.

I have just finished the final part of the third week keto and i feel great! The water fast (2nd week) was hard, but mainly down to suffering from severe acid reflux on days 4, 5 and 6, accumulating in approximately 4 hours sleep over the three nights, but apart form that, the actual water fast was not that bad.

The three weeks keto and water fast was mainly for health benefits, after having way too much sugar and carbs over the holiday period, my body definately needed a rest and the Water fast was for the health benefits associated, especially the autophagy (the body’s natural detox process that clears out damaged cells and creates new ones).

Myself and my wife normally do intermittent fasting 16/8, which means no food from 8pm until 12 noon the next day, then our eating window is 8 hours. Intermittent fasting promotes weight loss and may possibly reduce risk factors linked to heart disease, including diabetes, high blood pressure, unhealthy blood lipid levels, and inflammation.

I did thoroughly enjoy the keto meals, but i am not going to say i enjoyed the 7 day water fast! Intermittent fasting for me, is the way to go.

Ok, so back to the karate 60 day program, i will link to the first video here as soon as it’s ready and i hope you join me on this short but exciting karate journey! This program is available for everyone, irrespective of age, injuries or fitness level. Oss!
