In this short video we go through the Tekki Shodan moves 3 to 6 in detail. Tekki Shodan is the first of three Tekki Kata, with Tekki Nidan and Tekki Sandan being black belt kata.
The Tekki kata are excellent at developing powerful techniques over a very short distance. Be sure and use the hips and legs on every technique, not just the upper body.
In most Shotokan Karate Dojo, Tekki Shodan is the required kata when taking 3rd Kyu brown belt.
