Shotokan Karate exercise for simultaneous block and counter. This style of block and counter can be seen throughout many of the Shotokan kata, yet many karateka do not practice simultaneous block and counter. As with many aspects of karate, timing is essential, but if you practice this style of karate diligently, the benefits are numerous.
