In this live karate class,we focused on Kime (to decide).

On the completion of every karate technique at speed we apply kime. So what is kime?

Kime 決め comes from the japanese word Kimeru – to decide, to conclude, to set, or as my Sensei would say, to stop (the technique.

Kime! the most important part of the technique. For this whole month we are focusing all the live karate classes on kime.

In this first class, Sensei Huckle uses some basic exercises to better understand how to apply kime, then in the second part of this class, Sensei Amos applies kime to oi tsuki, then sanbon tsuki. After working on the basic stop of each punch, Sensei Amos then works on the advanced concept of applying kime on snapping punches.
